Army Pfc. Benjamin T. Zieske died of injuries sustained May 3, when an improvised explosive device detonated during a dismounted combat patrol in Kirkuk, Iraq.

When I see you son in my eyes, a friend told me that you are saying it's okay and that you are okay. I still miss you kiddow. I am feeling low and I feel like crying and pulling the blankets over my head. I miss the fact that you would have been a great dad if you had kids, and a great husband. You are a good man Ben and I miss you terribly.

Ben was one of my best friends and a good guy. we spent a lot of time together working out or just sitting in the broke car in his back yard. i thought his "smile looked like a heart", and his heart was big.of all the things i did stupid getting locked up right be for he died and i could not be there. i don't think i will ever be OK about that. love you Ben.
