Army Sgt. Brandon L. Wallace died April 14 in Fallujah, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle. Also killed was Sgt. Joshua A. Schmit.

Sitting here, with tears rolling down my cheeks. Brandon, I lived a few miles from you, but did not know you. I did not know you, but you moved me in ways words cannot explain. I am proud of the strong Christian young man you were. You were strong in your faith, your love for your family and your country. You took the burden of knowing your fate and protected your family from it. I did not know you, but I am proud to call you my brother. Continue smiling down on your loved ones from Heaven. Thank you for paying the ultimate sacrifice. And ultimately--------------Thank you for my freedom!
