I did not know about you Alex until yesterday when I recieved a hero bracelet with your name on it. I always felt a general sense of appreciation for young men and women serving in harms way for freedom's sake. I have spent some time today learning something about you, a very real and special person. While I do not know nearly enough yet about your all too short life, I do know that without question you are a true Hero. I wear your name on my wrist with great pride and will honor your memory whenever asked, "who is Spc Brian A Vaughn?" My deepest sympathy and greatful appreciation to the family left with your dear memory.

There's a big empty hole in the world but only those of us who knew and loved you realize what's missing. We will never be the same without your light and love and joy. I loved being your mom.

I will miss his laugh, his smile, his hugs, that little quirky grin he gave when he was kidding you, and we would watch Dragon Ball Z until we were nearly blind. I will miss you so much. I love you.
