Marine Cpl. Carlos E. Gil Orozco died Sept. 10 while conducting combat operations in Anbar province, Iraq. Also killed was Lance Cpl. Jon T. Hicks Jr.

Thank you for giving your son, brother, and friend the opportunity to be remembered by those that did not know him. I did in a sense know him. I too have a brother, a son, and friends that are my heart and soul. Thank you Carlos for helping fight for a freedom that too many take for granted. In a world where everyone is in such a hurry, thank you for making me take the time to stop. I did not know you but I will pray for your family and friends. Those who will miss you the most.
