Army Sgt. 1st Class Carlos M. Santos-Silva died March 22 in Kandahar province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his vehicle with an IED.

I am a soldier expressing my condolences. I am so sorry for your loss. I am a veteran, and I feel the pain of losing another member of my greater family, the family of soldiers. He died with honor, and my tears are of sadness for his loss of life, and for the great grief that is upon your heart. May you feel God's comfort as you begin to heal.
