Army Sgt. Chad M. Mercer was killed June 30 when his M2A2 Bradley Fighting Vehicle rolled over while conducting combat operations in Baghdad.

I knew Chad here and there. I'm so sorry. I remember coming out of the UC at VSU and he'd be standing there with the same old blank look on his face. After wealked for a second he'd laugh an d tell me to get in and he'd take me to my truck on the other side of campus. He would do anything for anybody. We'll see him again someday
