Army Capt. Charles E. Ridgley Jr. died April 16 at Forward Operating Base Gamberi, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when an Afghan National Army soldier attacked him with multiple grenades. Also killed were Sgt. 1st Class Charles L. Adkins, Staff Sgt. Cynthia R. Taylor, Sgt. Linda L. Pierre and Spc. Joseph B. Cemper.

This was my soldier I've loved him and he has been here for me the past seven years I can't believe he is gone and i can't believe i will never see, hear or hold him again
