A LIFE REMEMBERED
Army Spc. Charles S. Jirtle died June 7 in Konar, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his vehicle with an improvised explosive device. Also killed in the attack were Sgt. Joshua A. Lukeala, Spc. Matthew R. Catlett, and Spc. Blaine E. Redding

Charles, you must have felt like the old man of this group! 29 is hardly old! But, I want you to know, as we celebrate July 4th, I will watch a firework and think of you, and your buddies. I will know that this American Dream thing is possible- because of you.. Thank you for your service and your ultimate sacrifice! May God Bless you and your friends and family, and comfort them, give them peace, hope, and love!
