I send my deepest sympathy on the loss of Daniel Scherry I Was in 2053 with him on the island and had the privilage of becoming a fellow mortarman alongside him at SOI, even though we went to different units I still saw him occasionally and will always remember his great sense of humor and dedication to duty.

There are so many people who are praying and thinking about you and your family. You are a hero and will never be forgotten. You make an impact on more lives than you know. You made the ultimate sacrifice and we are so thankful for all you have done. May your family take comfort in knowing you lived a life of no regrets. I know you are watching over all of us. But try to hang in there & remember Danny for All the good times you spent with him. You will think of him often & you will miss him terribly for a long time, so try to have happy thoughts of him.
