Army Spc. Demetrius L. Void died Sept. 15 at Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan, of injuries sustained when a military vehicle struck him while conducting physical training.

we were close back in high school. we always had each other dying laughing in class and on the bus going home. i will always consider you as one of my closest friends. r.i.p bro. you will be truly miss but never forgotten.

Demetrius, it is an honor to have you in our ranks. We are the Voids, living and dead who served our country in the combat arms. Quite a few are serving now. One day we'll all salute the real Top Sergeant together. Until then, rest soldier. Outstandiing!
