On September 11, Adams called his wife, Heda, to say that he had heard an explosion. The couple's daughter, Rebecca, was born in spring of 2001.

Don's outgoing personality and reassuring personality allowed him to become quick friends to my younger brother. Don, thank you for the life you lived and how you cared for Tom through his college years and beyond. You will be missed by many.
