Army Spc. Douglas J. Green died Aug. 28 in Kandahar province, Afghanistan, of injuries suffered when insurgents attacked his unit using an improvised explosive device and small-arms fire.

My condolences to the family of Douglas. Thank God for young men like him that he gave his life for his country that we are still free. My son turned 23 yesterday and I can't even imagine getting that phone call. God be with your family and prayers continue for our troops. Thank you for my freedom.
