Naval hospitalman Eric D. Warren died Saturday of wounds he suffered when an improvised explosive device blew up in the Sangin District of the Helmand Province. The 23-year-old was assigned to 1st Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, Regimental Combat Team 6, 1st Marine Division (Forward), I Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward) at Camp Lejeune, N.C. VFW Post 1317 commander Al Wright told The Oklahoman the post will conduct a ceremony at 10 a.m. Thursday at Woodland Veterans Park in Shawnee. Wright says a wreath will be placed on the Navy flag, which represents a fallen soldier.
