Navy Lt. Cmdr. Erik S. Kristensen was killed June 28 when an MH-47 Chinook helicopter crashed while ferrying personnel to a battle against militants in eastern Afghanistan.

I met him for only 30 minutes but he made a lasting impression. He was an amazing guy, a wonderful boyfriend to my good friend Suz, and a true hero. He will be missed for eternity. Guys like him come along once in a millenium. Heaven is now a better place with him there. I hope his family and friends will recover from this immense loss.
