Army Spc. Gary L. Gooch died Nov. 5 in Jelewar, Afghanistan, of wounds sustained when enemy forces attacked his vehicle with an improvised explosive device.

Gary always stood up for me in high school. He was my best friend and like a big brother to me. I miss him every day and I pray for his family. God Bless you Gary! You made us very very very proud.
