Army Spc. Jacob C. Palmatier was killed Feb. 24 when an improvised explosive device detonated near his military vehicle in Muqdadiyah, Iraq.

Jacob was a gifted person. Kind, considerate, intelligent, loving, funny, thoughtful, generous and peace loving. He was the best of his father and me. He gave of himself unselfishly. I miss him every minute of every day.
The world is not better without him. He had a zest for life and craved to experience so much.
How do we go on without him?
God bless all who pray for us and send their sympathies. Please do not forget any of those that have perished in this misbegotten war. Pray for peace.
