Army Staff Sgt. Jacob M. Thompson died Aug. 6 in Baqubah, Iraq, of wounds sustained from an improvised explosive device. Also killed were Sgt. Nicholas A. Gummersall, Cpl. Juan M. Alcantara and Cpl. Kareem R. Khan.
