I met Jimmy when I was in college, where you tend to make many acquaintances but few friends. Jimmy was definitely a friend -- one of those people you wanted to be around no matter how you were feeling. Jimmy would always make you feel better by listening intently to what you had to say, showing genuine concern for you and your interests, reflecting compassion when you were down and sharing in your joys and achievements when you celebrated. I will always remember Jimmy, not because of the way in which he died, but because of the way he touched my life in the way he lived.
