A LIFE REMEMBERED
Army Sgt. 1st Class Jamie S. Nicholas died Sept. 29 in Yakhchal, Afghanistan, from wounds sustained when his vehicle encountered an improvised explosive device during mounted operations. Also killed were Capt. Richard J. Cliff and Sgt. 1st Class Gary J. Vasquez.

Im sorry to hear about Sfc Nicholas, he was my first squadleader in alaska, and he was the first person to make me a teamleader. I owe my success in the military to him... he will always be missed. We use to call him uncle jamie, because he just had that personality he was like our family..
