Army Spc. Jason J. Hernandez died Sept. 7 in Mosul from wounds sustained when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle during combat operations. Also killed were Sgt. Lee C. Wilson and Spc. Thomas L. Hilbert.

I was very fortunate To have know jason for 12 years. i used to live next door to him. he was a wonderful young man. I will miss you,and don't worry i will help your mom and Dad get through this. i love you like you were my own.
