Army Sgt. John P. Castro died April 22 in Paktika province, Afghanistan of wounds sustained when his unit was attacked by small-arms fire.

I am married to John Paul's cousin who is also a soldier in the military. John's family and the community he grew up in are so deeply saddened to loose such a wonderful person. He was clearly well loved my the soldiers he served with.
I have always heard nothing but wonderful things about John. My heart goes out to his wife,daughter,sister,brother,farther and mother. Please pray for his family to get through such a horrible time. Also for all of his fellow soldiers and friends who have lost a fellow brother. Thank you
