Navy Senior Chief Special Warfare Operator John Wayne Marcum died Sept. 12 from injuries sustained Sept. 11 while conducting combat operations in Afghanistan. Also killed was Navy Chief Special Warfare Operator (Select) Jason Richard Freiwald.
