I was there the night of Aug 17th. I known 1LT Edds all of 6 hours after taking over my platoon. The first and last thing he said to me was " A Michigan man huh? Go Blue! " From there I knew he were going to get along great. Nothing I can say will ease the suffering that his familey will endure, but know that every possaible messure was taken to ensure that 1LT Edds had a fighting chance. Our pnly regret is that we were unable to keep his life. My brother who was on another patroll also wanted me to offer his condolences. Sorry for you loss.
