Army Sgt. Kenneth B. Gibson died of wounds sustained Aug. 10 in Tarmiyah, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his position during dismounted operations.

My deepest condolences go out to the family of Gibson. He was a great soldier, NCO, and friend. I feel fortunate to have grown up in the army with him. I will carry my experiences that I learned with him on with me and do my best to teach them to those I come in contact with through out life. Thank you Gibson for being there for me when I needed you!
