Marine Cpl. Kyle W. Wilks died April 15 in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan, while conducting combat operations. Also killed was Marine 1st Sgt. Luke J. Mercardante.

I met the Wilks family at a hard time in my life. Kyle always had a way of making you smile when you were about to cry. He always had the warmest hug that just poured love straight into your heart from his. He will be truly missed and to Kathy and Randy and Makay...you were so blessed with a wonderful son and brother and he was equally blessed with such an awesome family who always supported and love him fully!
