A LIFE REMEMBERED
Army Spc. Kurt W. Kern died Dec. 27 in Paktya, Afghanistan, of wounds caused by an improvised explosive device. Also killed were Army Sgt. Noah M. Korte and Army Pfc. Justin M. Whitmire.
