Army Master Sgt. Davy N. Weaver died May 18 in Qalat, Afghanistan, of wounds sustained when his vehicle encountered an improvised explosive device.

IT'S HARD TO BELIEVE THAT YOU ARE GONE, I STILL REMEMBER THE GOOD AND BAD TIMES WE HAD IN OUR FIRST TOUR TO IRAQ AND IT IS SO HARD TO BELIEVE THAT YOU ARE GONE. I KNOW YOU ARE IN A BETTER PLACE AND I WISH THAT YOU WERE HERE. YOU WERE A GOOD FRIEND AND GREAT SOLDIER. IN TIMES OF NEED YOU WERE ALWAYS A SHOULDER TO CRY ON AND I AM SO THANKFUL FOR KNOWING YOU. I THANK GOD FOR BLESSING US WITH YOUR PRESENCE AND TRUE FRIENDSHIP. IT'S GOD DESIGN WHEN WE LEAVE THIS EARTH FOR WHATEVER REASON AND I KNOW YOU ARE IN A BETTER PLACE. YOU WILL ALWAYS BE REMEMBERED AND WE WHO KNEW YOU IN THE 48TH BRIGADE WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER AND LOVE YOU. SML
