Marine 1st Lt. Michael E. Johnson died Sept. 8 while supporting combat operations in Kunar province, Afghanistan. Also killed were Staff Sgt. Aaron M. Kenefick and Gunnery Sgt. Edwin W. Johnson Jr.

My son graduated OCS with Michael. They trained together in Okinawa as well. My dad, uncle, oldest son and myself were Marines. God bless your son and family for the unselfish soul he brought us.
