Army Sgt. Michael J. Martinez died June 28 of wounds sustained when his unit was attacked in Baghdad by insurgents using improvised explosive devices. Also killed were Sgt. Shin W. Kim, Sgt. Giann C. Joya Mendoza, Spc. Dustin L. Workman II and Pfc. Cory F. Hiltz.

Michael was my second cousin, I was so heart broken when i found out he was gone. it was so sad to see him go. He was one of the nicest people in the world. He was never frowning and always happy. He was awsome!
