Army Pfc. Payton A. Jones died of wounds caused by small-arms fire March 1 in Kandahar province, Afghanistan. Also killed in the incident was Staff Sgt. Jordan L. Bear.

As I arrived at Marble Fall to meet family I notice the crowd of people in the street waving our American Flag. At frist I thought of a holiday, but then I saw a half flag at the bank my heart stop...OMG OMG I didn't know this solider that we just lost but that day I met a hero they gave so much to us...Our Country, His Country. I will remember you and the day we recieved you. As you passed us by Pfc.Payton Jones I prayed for you as well for your family. You will always be in our hearts, your in God hands now Rest in Peace.
