Pruitt A Rainey of Haw River, N.C. is remembered in the Liberty Unites archive.
A LIFE REMEMBERED
Army Cpl. Pruitt A. Rainey died of wounds sustained when his outpost was attacked by small-arms fire and rocket propelled grenades from enemy forces in Wanat, Afghanistan, on July 13. Also killed were 1st Lt. Jonathan P. Brostrom, Sgt. Israel Garcia, Cpl. Jonathan R. Ayers, Cpl. Jason D. Hovater, Cpl. Jason M. Bogar, Cpl. Matthew B. Phillips, Cpl. Gunnar W. Zwilling and Pfc. Sergio S. Abad.

ME AND MY FAMILY GREIVE FOR CPL PRUITT RAINEY, HE IS A TRUE AMERICAN. I NEVER MEET HIM , BUT WILL BE FOREVER IN DEBT FOR HIS SACRICE TO TAKE THE FIGHT TO THE ENEMY'S HOME AND NOT HERE WHERE MY CHILDREN PLAY.
HE HAS LIED HIS LIFE DOWN FOR OTHERS, THERE IS NO HIGHER HONOR!

We will always miss your smile and laughter. No matter what kind of mood we where in you where always there to cheer us up. Most of the time though you where playing pranks on us. I will miss that. You where loved pruitt and I know you are in a better place. But I'm selfish and I rather have you with us. I love you pruitt and I will see you later.
