A LIFE REMEMBERED
Army Sgt. 1st Class Ronald W. Sawyer died Aug. 25 in southern Afghanistan of wounds sustained when enemy forces attacked his vehicle with an improvised explosive device. Also killed were Capt. John L. Hallett III, Capt. Cory J. Jenkins and Pfc. Dennis M. Williams.

Ron, thank you for your sacrifice. My heart breaks for your family and all the others in town who knew and loved you. I am from Trenton. I served in Vietnam. I returned. I am so sorry you paid the price. Damn it. So sorry. God be with you.
