Ryan H. Lane of Pittsburgh is remembered in the Liberty Unites archive.
A LIFE REMEMBERED
Marine Sgt. Ryan H. Lane died July 23 in Helmand province, Afghanistan, of wounds sustained while supporting combat operations. Also killed were Lance Cpl. Jeremy S. Lasher and Cpl. Nicholas G. Xiarhos.

On July 23, 2009, a hole in my heart was created. This will never heal. My every waking moments are thoughts of you. You as a baby, you as a small child, you as a teenager, and you as the man. You are a great man and a great Marine. I will never let you or your sacrifice be forgotten. I always told you that no matter where you are in this world - you are always in my heart. Rest easy my son.

Ryan, the memory of you over the 25 years have always been fun and loving. You were doing what you wanted to do to keep us all free.
