Tara, you were and will be my battle buddy. I miss your laugh, your sense of humor, your loyalty and your presence. In life it is rare to come across true friends and miss that about you. We had a great time in Korea and we remained in touch until your deployment. I never would have thought I would never see or hear from you again. God has made his choice and called you home, rest and please be waiting for me at the gates. Luv ya sis.

To the family, I give my deepest commiseration. Tara Smith was a great friend of mine during our time in Kuwait 07-08. She was a true professional and will be missed by seniors, peers, and subordinates alike. God Bless.

Dear Family
THere are no words I can say to ease the hurt you feel with the thoughts come to your mind. People told me that time heal wounds, true to flesh but not to the spirit. Only God's Grace can make us free of hurt. Always do good when you think of SSt Tara J. Smith. We can rest assure that She -her spirit is with Jesus the Son of the one and only God. She has the same smile SSG Carletta S Davis wear. Keep Her smile in your heart. I Love and pray for your family. From another Gold Star Mother to another mother...
