Army Pfc. Thomas D. Caughman was killed June 9 when his up-armored Humvee was struck by rocket-propelled grenades and small-arms fire in Baghdad.

I will never forget your son and his service to our country. I never knew him personally, but grew to your fallen soldier and how the Lexington community adored him. It's on days like today that I will always remember his defense of my families freedom. I know holidays like this have to be tough for your family. Just know that my family will be thinking about Thomas and you today.
