Army Spc. Windell J. Simmons died Sept. 23 of injuries sustained when an improvised explosive device detonated near his Humvee during combat operations in Taji, Iraq.

I am originally from Hopkinsville, Ky. I lived in Ft. Hood, Tx for five years. My husband was killed over in Iraq as well and he was also part of the 4th Infantry division. I just wanted to say to the family that you are not alone! And I am praying you through. Your sons memory will forever and always live on. Thankyou for your sacrifice.
